Birth Certificates
We can provide Birth Certificates for individuals born in Alberta. We do
carry birth certificate applications for all provinces, however, can only
provide a birth certificate for those actually born in Alberta, and not
in any other province. Certain eligibility requirements must be met but,
basically, if you are ordering a birth certificate for either yourself or
your child there should be no problem, provided you can supply proof of
identification. You may download the application
form here, then bring the completed form to our office.
For people currently living outside the province, you must send someone in person to our office with written authorization and your completed application to process your request. Payment must be made by cash, debit card, certified cheque or money order. When you order a Birth Certificate, we submit your application online, and the certificate is (usually) printed the same day in Edmonton and mailed out the following day. It takes approximately 10 business days to receive the certificate. For RUSH SERVICE, for an additional charge of $15.00 + GST, we can have
the certificate printed in Calgary and couriered to our office for pickup.

Certificates take approximately 3 – 5 business days to arrive in
our office. Documents are mailed to the address of the person who is making the application.
